Welcome to the AsparaGus Patch

As you may know or might have guessed, I'm neither a vegan nor named Asparagus. So the name is a mixture of metaphors. AsparaGus is a character from the play, Cats, which in turn was based on a collection of poems by T. S. Elliot, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.

The character was chosen because it resonanted with me in the Broadway rendition, which differed from the movie version markedly. Gus is introduced as the theater cat, a bit seedy and past his prime with some memories of past greatness, which are then relived in an homage to Gilbert & Sullivan as a play within a play.

Defying all concepts of good design for a website is not at all unusual for me, so you'll find the purpose of this site is much like all my Old Newbie Project works. It is twofold: one as a learning tool for myself and two as a guide and discussion of the involved tool used to create the item.

This page and those in the navigation sidebar under Home are more or less about the Office Live tool and space. However, I've left all the other material on this page as example of a 'normal' site and pointers to other things I'm involved with and are in various stages of developement. About and its sidebar items will deal more directly with the Old Newbie Project.

(Legend boxes like this will explain the site's design intent.)

Groups at MSN

The Asparagus Patch preceded this site, but it was not my most ambitious Group at MSN. Actually it was done during an unfortunate "oopsgrade" when my other places were unavailable.

  • Suire's Moidee's site made with love, a bit of skill and a lot of help from my friends at HTML&WDD
  • Fat Female Film Fest Send your cards and letters about the name to the Founder, she made me do it. Again with the help of the HTML&WDD gang.
